PRESS QUOTES

• “Live drummers appeared and the Cai dancers began their signature ribbon dance. When the Dimensions dancers burst forth with their energetic and grounded West African movement, the cultural lesson we were meant to absorb came through: the language of dance is universal, there is beauty and a life-force in all dance forms, and color need not be watered down for us to peacefully co-exist with each other.”
~ Sima Belmar, www.dancemagazine.com

• “All the women move with muscular urgency, sometime holding hands in a tight cluster as if to find their way through a fog. Arms and torsos stretch skyward; at intervals the women spring high in a form that is as individual as each dancer’s body.”
~ Diane D. Urbani, Oakland Tribune
