Elegant, sensual and captivating, the Lily Cai Chinese Dance Company melds ancient Chinese forms with modern dance in an artistic marriage of East West styles. The Company offers two touring programs of evening concerts, school shows, master classes and residency workshops.
EVENING CONCERTS
Dynasties & Beyond 

Dynasties & Beyond bridges the past to the contemporary, from spectacular court dances of Chinese Dynasties to contemporary works fusing classical Chinese and ballet, complemented by dazzling costumes, original music and multi-media designs. Touring personnel includes Artistic Director, Music Director, Technical Director, and Company of seven dancers. The program is performed to taped music.

Silk Cascade 
Silk Cascade features an East West blend of Chinese minority dances, contemporary ribbon dancing, and an intimate suite with beauty and fire with the music of Gustav Mahler. Touring personnel includes Artistic Director, Music Director, Technical Director, Chinese Erhu Soloist, and Company dancers. String Quartet can tour with Company or be provided by presenter. Company can travel with Chinese Calligrapher for Residency programs.

THEATER PROGRAM: Classical & Folk Dances From China
(for K-12) featuring Lily Cai & Company dancers

The Lily Cai Chinese Dance Company brings the movements of China alive in a captivating, truly unique dance narrated presentation, sharing their enthusiasm for Chinese culture, history and people. Utilizing the traditional costumes of the Tang and Qing Dynasties, colorful folk dance ribbons and fans of red, green and gold, big head masks, plus dangerous swords -- students, teachers, and parents are invited to experience the elegance and mystery of one of the world’s most intriguing cultures. This 50-minute program includes colorful performances by Lily Cai and Company dancers, with Cai narrating the regional differences, cultural differences and choreographic structures of several dances from China. Composer Gang Situ coordinates music prepared especially for this program, which is presented in 4-6 minute segments. Several students will be invited on stage to participate.
